If your son or daughter just finished fifth grade, they’re about to enter a new season of life. They’re about to start middle school, but even better than that, they’re now old enough to become a part of The Mix family—and they definitely should. Here’s a couple of reasons why.
More than anything, The Mix is about the Gospel. The vision of The Mix is, “it’s a diverse gathering of people who have fun, take next steps with Jesus and connect with others.” The Mix shares the Gospel every single week in a way that is relevant and understandable to middle school and high school students. It’s a place where your student and their friends could meet Jesus and learn to walk with him step by step.
What’s better than that?
You can’t do life alone, and neither can your student. Going into middle school, one of the best things they can have is good community to help them in their middle and high school years.
Some of our students have met their best friends at The Mix, and doing life with them has helped them learn to follow Jesus.
It’s also a place where we have some of the best adult volunteers around who all have hearts to serve students and point them to Jesus. Our Volunteers are committed to the spiritual growth of your student. They have also been known to show up to a sporting event and academic ceremonies to support students.
One of the best places our volunteers get to serve are in Squads. This is our name for small groups where students can connect with each other and ask more specific questions to our leaders about what it means to follow Jesus.
What could it look like for your student to join a Squad as a sixth grader?

One of my favorite things about our church is its investment in the next generation. The Mix isn’t just ministry for students–it’s ministry with them.
The Mix creates an environment where students can bring their friends to a place where they can belong, have fun, and most importantly, learn to follow Jesus step by step. What happens at The Mix isn’t normal. A hundred students gathering to worship Jesus—and have fun doing it—is not normal.
Teenagers getting excited about reading their Bibles and bringing all their friends to church is not normal.
I’ve been here for a couple of months now and it’s getting better every week so believe me when I say, the best is yet to come.
The impact of what happens at The Mix on Wednesday nights is changing the city.
Why wouldn’t you want your student to be a part of something like that?
The Mix Fall Kick off is Wednesday, August 3rd at 6:00pm in the Student Center.
We hope to see your student there!
